This privacy policy of the corporation “BOOKERTY” (hereinafter “Bookerty”) on personal data protection provides information regarding the processing (including collection, storage and use), recipients, retention period and protection of your personal data and the contact details of Bookerty.

Personal data collection sources

Bookerty, as the Data Controller, processes your personal data when you use the Bookerty's website https://www.bookerty.com and applications (hereinafter collectively the “Bookerty Platform”) or other websites accessible through the Bookerty’s Platform, its accounts on social media, its call centre, as well as and in case of your physical transaction with Bookerty. Bookerty collects, retains and uses the information you voluntarily provide us with, as well as information it obtains from third parties and are absolutely necessary for the transactions between you and Bookerty. Bookerty may collect your personal data in the following cases: provision of online intermediation services, your submission of requests, comments, complaints, reviews or contact with Bookerty, cooperation with Bookerty in the framework of its activity, sending your resume for the purpose of filling a position in Bookerty or cooperating with it and your request to receive newsletters and invitations to Bookerty’s events.

Personal data categories

Bookerty may collect the following categories of data:

  • Personal information, such as first and last name, father’s name, mother’s name, date and place of birth, citizenship, demographic information, employment information, police identity card, passport, Tax Identification Number, Social Security Number or other identification information that may be required to prove your identity or age.
  • Contact information, such as home address, home phone, work address, work phone, mobile phone, fax, email address.
  • Personal information provided by or on behalf of the Bookerty Platform's users or generated by the latter in the course of the provision of Bookerty’s services.
  • Personal data of third parties, such as counterparties, consultants, etc., provided that they have been informed about the processing of their personal data by Bookerty and have given their consent.
  • Educational data, such as studies, skills, knowledge of foreign languages, professional experience, certificates of studies and/or military service concerning you and/or your protected members and special categories of personal data, in particular health data, in cases where you apply for a position in Bookerty or for cooperation with it or you work for Bookerty or cooperate with the latter.
  • Identification and verification information, such as utility bills, tax information, etc., for the purpose of Bookerty’s compliance with the obligation to abide by due diligence measures, in the cases where this is required.
  • Credit or debit card and bank account details.
  • Interests and preferences regarding receiving newsletters and communication preferences.

  • Data regarding visits on the Bookerty Platform or other websites accessible through the Bookerty Platform.
  • Technical information about your internet connection and browser.
  • Your social media username, if you interact with Bookerty through them, in order to respond to your questions or comments.

In some cases you may be asked for other information or details about a particular transaction to be executed.

Bookerty does not collect other sensitive personal data, except in cases where this is required by the provisions of the law, for the processing of which you will have previously been informed in detail and given your consent.

The processing of personal data of persons under the age of fifteen (15) requires the consent of their legal representatives.

Legal basis for processing

The legal basis for processing your personal data is, as the case may be:

  • The fulfilment of contractual and pre-contractual obligations for the conclusion or execution of the contract between you and Bookerty or taking measures at your request during the pre-contractual stage.
  • Bookerty's compliance with its legal obligations.
  • The fulfilment of the legitimate interests of Bookerty or third parties. In cases where you must provide data for this purpose, this will be explicitly indicated to you by Bookerty.
  • Your consent to the processing of your personal data for specific purposes. In cases where you must provide data for this purpose, this will be explicitly indicated to you by Bookerty.

Regarding the special categories of your personal data, the legal basis for their processing is, as the case may be:

  • Your consent to the processing of your personal data for specific purposes. In cases where you must provide data for this purpose, this will be explicitly indicated to you by Bookerty.
  • In the event that your data has been manifestly made public by you.
  • The establishment, exercise or defense of legal claims.
  • The exercise of rights or the fulfilment of legal obligations arising from labour law, social security and social protection law.
  • For purposes of assessing your ability to work.
  • In the cases of article 25 § 2 of Greek Law 4624/2019.

Purposes for processing

Bookerty processes your personal data for the following purposes:

  • Conducting the activity of Bookerty, i.e. providing online intermediation services.
  • Communication in the context of the relationship between you and Bookerty, your cooperation with Bookerty, etc., sending newsletters and invitations to Bookerty's events, the unsubscription of which is possible by contacting Bookerty, and response to requests/questions you address to Bookerty.
  • Evaluation of your resume for the purpose of filling a position in Bookerty or cooperating with it.
  • Insurance coverage if required for the execution of the contract between you and Bookerty.
  • Compliance of Bookerty with the legislation, such as the legislation for the protection of personal data and privacy in the field of electronic communications, commercial and tax legislation, etc.
  • Compliance of Bookerty with its legal or regulatory obligations, such as compliance with due diligence measures, anti-money laundering, anti-bribery and anti-corruption, fraud prevention, disclosure duty to supervisory authorities etc., to the extent required by law.
  • Processing of financial transactions and issuance of the legal documents (i.e. invoices).
  • Defence of the legal rights of Bookerty or third parties before judicial or other authorities.
  • Ensuring the security and protection of the transactions.
  • Improvement of the services provided by Bookerty.
  • Improvement of your browsing experience on the Bookerty Platform.

Data recipients

Subject to confidentiality in all cases, recipients of your personal data may be the following:

  • Members of the Bookerty Platform.
  • Employees and associates of Bookerty.
  • Cooperating companies, such as companies that provide services in the fields of telecommunications, technical support, insurance, advertising, etc., which process your data on behalf of Bookerty and are subject to its instructions and mandates.
  • External associates of Bookerty, to whom Bookerty assigns the execution of specific actions, such as accountants, legal, insurance and other consultants, etc.
  • Associates and service providers, to whom your data are transmitted to process a request or execute a contract or ensure legitimate interests, such as credit institutions, etc.
  • Authorized external associates of Bookerty, to whom your data are disclosed in order to execute the transaction or ensure the high quality of the services provided by the associates of Bookerty.
  • Public bodies, judicial or other authorities, within the framework of whose competences Bookerty is obliged to disclose personal data by virtue of mandatory legal provisions.

Apart from the above, your personal data will not be further disclosed to third parties.

In case of disclosure of data to third party associates of Bookerty, the latter will ensure that the processors of your personal data on its behalf meet the conditions and provide sufficient assurances for the implementation of the appropriate technical and organizational measures for the security of the processing of your data and the protection of your rights.

Bookerty may transmit your personal data to third parties established outside the European Economic Area (EEA). In this case, your personal data will still be subject to an adequate level of protection and under appropriate safeguards provided for by law.

Data retention period

Bookerty retains your personal data for the period of time required to achieve the purposes contained in this policy or in the contractual documents between you and Bookerty, or for as long as you do not withdraw your consent. Furthermore, Bookerty retains your personal data for the period of time required in the context of its commercial and tax compliance obligations. In any case, this period shall not exceed twenty (20) years. After the expiration of the above period of time, your personal data is destroyed. In particular, Bookerty deletes your personal data immediately, when the legal basis for its processing does no longer exist or in case of objection on your part, unless further processing is permitted in accordance with relevant legal provisions or if Bookerty is obliged to do so for other legal grounds and in any case after twenty (20) years. It is specifically pointed out that the resumes you send to Bookerty to fill a position in Bookerty or cooperate with it are retained in Bookerty’s file for a period of six (6) months from their sending to Bookerty, after which they are deleted.

In the event that the retention of your personal data is necessary for the exercise or defense of Bookerty’s legal rights before judicial or other authorities, as provided by the current legislation, the above retention period is extended until the point in time in which the retention of the data is no longer necessary to achieve the above purposes.

Bookerty makes every effort to minimize the personal data it uses over time, as well as to anonymise it as far as possible, so that it can no longer be associated with you or identify you. In the latter case, Bookerty may use your personal data without further notice.

Data subject rights

With regard to the protection against the processing of your personal data, you, as data subject, have the following rights:

  • Right of access: Without prejudice to the provisions of article 33 of Greek Law 4624/2019, you have the right to request access to your personal data and information regarding the categories, processing purposes, recipients, retention period, sources of your personal data, the existence of the right to correction, restriction of processing, objection or deletion and the right to submit a complaint to the supervisory authority.
  • Right to rectification: You have the right to request the rectification of any inaccurate or incomplete personal data.
  • Right to restriction of processing: You have the right to request restriction of the processing of your personal data if you question the accuracy of the data, the processing is unlawful, the data are required to establish, exercise or defense your legal claims or you object to the processing of your data and your legitimate grounds override Bookerty’s legitimate grounds.
  • Right to object: Without prejudice to the provisions of article 35 of Greek Law 4624/2019, you have the right to object at any time to the processing of your personal data.
  • Right to erasure: Without prejudice to the provisions of article 34 of Greek Law 4624/2019, you have the right to request the erasure of your personal data if your personal data are no longer necessary in relation to the purposes for which they were collected or otherwise processed, if you withdraw the consent on which the processing is based and there is no other legal ground for the processing, if you object to the processing and there are no overriding legitimate grounds for the processing, and if your personal data was processed unlawfully. Bookerty has the right to refuse your request to delete your personal data, in the event that the retention of the data is necessary for the establishment, exercise or defense of legal rights of Bookerty or third parties.
  • Right to portability: You have the right to transmit your personal data to another controller without hindrance from Bookerty or to request from Bookerty the direct transmission of your personal data to another controller, in case this is technically feasible, as long as the processing is based on your consent and is carried out by automated means.
  • Right to withdraw consent: You have the right to withdraw your consent to the processing of your personal data at any time, if your data processing is based on your consent. In this case the processing of your personal data by Bookerty will cease. The withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of any prior to the withdrawal processing of your data.

Bookerty adheres to the principles of personal data protection and applies every reasonable technical and organizational measures to ensure confidentiality, the security of personal data processing and their protection against accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration, unauthorized disclosure or access and any other form of unlawful processing thereof.

Legislation

The processing of personal data is carried out in accordance with the provisions of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR 2016/679), any more specific national and European legislation for certain sectors, the applicable Greek legislation on the protection of personal data (Law 4624/2019, as applicable), as well as the applicable Greek legislation on the protection of personal data and privacy in the field of electronic communications (Law 3471/2006, as applicable) and the decisions of the Personal Data Protection Authority (PDPA).

Changes to the privacy policy

The privacy policy for the protection of personal data may be modified from time to time. Any modifications will be communicated to you via e-mail or notification on Bookerty’s website. Bookerty suggests that you regularly refer to the privacy policy, in order to keep informed of its current version.
